Road Force Tire Balancing

Road force balancing is an advanced method used to balance tires and wheel assemblies more accurately than traditional static or dynamic balancing techniques. It involves measuring and compensating for both the static and dynamic forces exerted by a tire and wheel assembly when it rolls against the road surface.

During road force balancing, a specialized machine applies a simulated road force to the spinning tire and wheel assembly while it's mounted on the balancer. This force simulates the pressure exerted by the road on the tire as the vehicle moves, including variations in road surface, tire stiffness, and wheel imperfections. The machine then measures the tire and wheel assembly's response to this simulated force, detecting any imbalances, such as tire and wheel runout, force variation, or stiffness differences.

Based on these measurements, the road force balancer calculates the optimal placement of counterweights to offset the detected imbalances. These counterweights are strategically positioned on the wheel rim to minimize the effects of the imbalances and ensure that the tire and wheel assembly rotates smoothly on the road surface.

Road force balancing offers several advantages over traditional balancing methods, including more precise correction of imbalances, reduced vibrations, improved ride comfort, and extended tire life. It's particularly beneficial for high-performance vehicles and those equipped with low-profile or high-performance tires, where even minor imbalances can have a significant impact on ride quality and handling. Overall, road force balancing helps optimize vehicle performance, safety, and driver comfort.

Tire Rotation

Your vehicle's weight is not distributed evenly to all four corners. If you leave all 4 tires just the way they are, some tires would eventually wear out faster than others. We know that a tire rotation is an essential part of making your tires last longer. The tire rotation process consists of moving your tires from front to back, moving them from one side of your vehicle to the other or a combination of both.

Uneven tire wear could bring about unsatisfactory gas efficiency, poor performance, reduce the life of the new tire and can easily cause safety problems. Regular tire rotation helps eliminate premature tire wear and could save you a lot of money on new tires. Visit our auto repair shop and let our trained technicians rotate your tires.
